Text reads: Title: What is Transition? What are Transition Services? Goal of Transition. Transition is the process of moving from I D E A entitlement services in a school setting to support services provided by public agencies.

Transition is the time to consider what your child may need to learn to enable him or her to participate in community life as an adult after leaving high school. While in school, your child was entitled to services under IDEA. However, these entitlements stop when he or she leaves high school. To receive services through a public agency, your child must meet its eligibility criteria.
