There are numerous programs and services outside the Department of Defense that support the military's programs. The following links are to related programs and services that support abuse and neglect prevention programs for service members and their families.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) (1-800-799-SAFE or 1-800-799-7233) NDVH is an excellent resource in the civilian community for victims of domestic abuse. Hotline advocates are available twenty-four hours a day for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and information and referrals to agencies in all fifty states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Hotline advocates provide confidential services to victims.
