Interactive Online Survivor Benefits Report — For several years now, survivor benefits reports have been provided to surviving family members of service members who die on active duty. We are pleased to announce that, effective immediately, a new interactive online survivor benefits report will be available for survivors of all service members who have died on active duty that can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Gold Star Advocate — The National Defense Authorization Act 2014, Section 633, requires each secretary of a military department to designate a member to assist spouses and other dependents of service members, including Reserve Component, who die on active duty. These advocates are available to provide support and address complaints by spouses and other dependents of deceased service members regarding casualty assistance or receipt of benefits authorized by law.
