DoD Education Programs


The education programs and resources listed below are administered through the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Military Community and Family Policy/Educational Opportunities Directorate.


Department of Defense Troops to Teachers Program. Troops to Teachers is a Department of Defense program, which assists transitioning service members with beginning new careers as teachers. The program's primary objective is to provide service members expert assistance with navigating state and education requirements to become teachers and securing their employment as teachers after their transition from military service.


Military K-12 Partners. This website describes how the Department of Defense and all of the services are working with educators and administrators across the nation to provide quality education for all children of military families.


DoD Voluntary Education Program. Department of Defense's off-duty, voluntary education program assists service members to enroll in postsecondary courses leading to associate, bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. Special opportunities also exist for service members to enhance their basic academic skills.

Military Families Learning Network This two-hour webinar will explore links between post-traumatic stress disorder and domestic violence in military couples. There will also be specific tips and skills for working with this challenging population.
