November 27 marks the anniversary of the new Military OneSource website. The launch of the new site combined the valued, trusted information of the old site with a brand new look, additional features, improved search functionality and user-friendly access to a wide range of great resources.
More than 200 new articles have been written on life topics such as Moving, Non-medical Counseling, and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and on new topics like Relationship Health and Family Wellness, Crisis and Prevention, and Disaster Resources.
The redesigned Military OneSource website offers many new features, including a rotating panel of highlighted news and information, access to several ePublications, a section for The Latest, which updates users about the most recent information and resources for a particular life topic, and a mobile version of the site, which delivers great information to people on the go.
Since its launch, Military OneSource has posted seven new podcasts and 44 webinars to its Social Media Hub, in addition to several videos and discussion boards. The Social Media Hub includes links to Military OneSource social media sites such as Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook, and includes helpful resources such as live chats and the popular Blog Brigade series, featuring stories from military spouses around the world.
Military OneSource uses polls, website reports and user feedback to keep the site's content relevant and timely. The site highlights the Most Popular articles and resources on the homepage, like the current favorites "Space "A" Travel" and "Using Military Lodging Facilities for Leisure Travel." The Monthly Focus provides a comprehensive list of resources in support of the current month's theme.
A year after its launch, Military OneSource continues to improve. The Confidential Help menu on the homepage has been redesigned, making it easier to navigate through the various confidential non-medical counseling options, specialty consultations and other services available through Military OneSource. The search function has been improved to increase the productivity of users' searches. Other improvements are in the works, including a major redesign of the Military OneSource eNewsletter.
The anniversary of the new Military OneSource website marks a year of hard work and dedication to deliver important and trusted information and resources to the military community in a timely and effective manner. Happy Anniversary Military OneSource!
