The following training resources are designed to assist Transition Assistance Program service providers in managing their programs and providing the most comprehensive support to service members and their families.
National Learning Center (NLC) The National Learning Center is the umbrella organization for the National Veterans' Training Institute. Its mission is to provide quality development, training, career guidance, and support to customers in their delivery of employment and transition services, particularly the mandatory Preseparation Counseling Training program.
National Veterans Training Institute (NVTI) NVTI was established in 1986 to further develop and enhance the professional skills of veterans' employment and training service providers throughout the United States. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS), and administered by the University of Colorado at Denver.
TAP Facilitator Manual The TAP Facilitator Manual can be used by service providers as a resource for preparation and delivery of transition assistance classes and seminars for separating service members. The Resume Facilitator Guide and Script can be used when conducting the supplemental "Create an Effective Resume" workshop
TAP Workshop Participant Manual The TAP Workshop Participant Manual is available on the VETS website in electronic format for service providers and clients who may prefer this format. TAP Supplement-Create an Effective Resume (dated Sep 2007) supplements section 3.10 of the TAP Workshop Participant Manual.
