Active Duty Marine Corps Spouse

Mrs. Julie Margolis was born in Santa Barbara, CA. After she graduated from Santa Maria High School, she entered the work force in the restaurant industry and then transitioned to hotel management, while simultaneously working to earn an associate degree. While working in several facets of the hotel/hospitality trade, she worked in San Luis Obispo, CA and Monterey, CA, as both a consultant and manager. In 2003, she met and married her Marine, Michael Margolis.
While in Monterey, CA, Mrs. Margolis served as the Association of the United States Army, or AUSA, General Stillwell Chapter President; she interacted with membership consisting of over 600 personnel to identify initiatives of critical importance to members. She worked on numerous family readiness events and Single Marine Program, or SMP, events to increase readiness and morale.
Mrs. Margolis moved with her husband to Marine Corps Base, or MCB, Quantico, VA in 2003. In 2006, she earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. In 2006, she moved to Marine Corps Air Station, or MCAS, Iwakuni, Japan. While there, she completed three semesters of accelerated college level Japanese language courses.
In 2014, her husband took command of MALS-31, Beaufort South Carolina. She interacted on a regular basis with the local Department of Defense schools, base housing and installation headquarters in an effort to address concerns of families within her husband’s command.
