2024 Month of the Military Child Toolkit

Every April, the Office of Military Community and Family Policy supports and celebrates military-connected children and their parents during Month of the Military Child. We’re featuring resources from across programs to help families discover the wealth of information and support they can turn to throughout the year. This year’s theme, Taking Care of Our Military Children, focuses on and promotes a variety of programs and support available to help military-connected children, youth and teens and their parents thrive.

Let’s celebrate and support military-connected children together

Wear purple. Join the Office of the Secretary of Defense in celebrating and promoting Purple Up Day on April 8 and show your appreciation for our extraordinary MilKids.

Share the dedicated Month of the Military Child landing page with military families. Explore quality of life resources, podcasts, videos, giveaways and more available to military-connected children, youth and teens — and their parents. Learn more about parenting resources, youth and teen programs, adoption and foster care, the School Liaison Program and more.

Spread the word about the MilKid appreciation items. Throughout the month of April, free giveaways will be available to order for your military community.
