Dr. David Rubin

Military Family Organization Representative: Children’s Hospital Association

Term of Service: 3 Years — Beginning in June 2016

Dr. David Rubin is the Director of Policy Lab and Director of Population Health Innovation at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, or CHOP. He is a professor of pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Previously, Dr. Rubin was a presidential appointee to the federal Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities. He was also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Task Force on Foster Care and their Committee for Early Education, Adoption and Dependent Care.

Dr. Rubin is a national leader in developing programs and policies to improve access and quality of care for high risk populations of children, including those in our nation’s Medicaid program, and the children of our U.S. military members. He has a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of military families and has published extensively on issues related to child maltreatment, deployment-related stress and healthcare access for military families.

Dr. Rubin is an active pediatric primary care clinician, educator and mentor for fellows and junior faculty interested in children’s health policy and public health.
