Below is a partial list of the resources available. The categories are only guidelines and database collections may change. Many of the resources can be useful or entertaining across age groups.

  • BookFlix®(from Scholastic) is a digital literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction titles to reinforce early reading skills and develop real-world knowledge. This cultivates key reading skills, supports reluctant readers and English Language Learners, and builds fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
  • Britannica® Libraryallows users to find the most suitable content for school projects or for learning something new through its Children, Young Adults or Reference Center sections.
  • ComicsPlus® Library Edition offers access to more than 20,000 comics and graphic novels from more than 100 publishers. All major genres are represented ─ fiction, nonfiction, fantasy, thrillers, romance, indie comics, Sunday funnies and manga.
  • Gale in Context: Elementary introduces elementary students to database searching with resources featuring age-appropriate, curriculum-related content.
  • Gale in Context: Middle School is a reference resource for grades 6-12 by national and state curriculum standards.
  • Gale: National Geographic Virtual Library brings together a complete archive of National Geographic magazines — every page of every issue — along with a cross-searchable collection of National Geographic books, maps, images and videos. The magazine collection includes National Geographic Archive, 1888-2015; National Geographic Current, 2016-present; National Geographic: People, Animals and the World; and National Geographic Kids, 2009-present.
  • Gale Presents: Miss Humblebee’s Academy is an award-winning, online kindergarten-readiness solution for children ages 3 to 6. The program lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning success, building strength in core subject areas: language and literacy, math, science and social studies, art and music, social and emotional learning, and fitness.
  • NoveList® K-8 Plusprovides a trusted source of information curated specifically for younger readers. It helps kids find books that are just right for their reading level and interests.
  • Primary Search® through Explora, EBSCO’s dedicated interface for schools and public libraries, provides easy-to-use features and reliable content from the world’s leading magazines and reference books. Designed for elementary school libraries, Primary Search is a full-text database providing popular children’s magazines, easy-to-read encyclopedic entries and a vast image collection. Students can learn about a variety of topics, including endangered species, famous musicians, fitness and space exploration. It is available on library computers and mobile devices. Scholastic ScienceFlix (grades 4-10 with a STEM middle and high school focus) offers science for the next generation.
  • TrueFlixTM(grades 3-5) brings award-winning true books to life to help students master social studies and science content knowledge through literacy.
  • Tutor.comTM for U.S. military families provides eligible students with free 24/7 live, one-to-one expert tutoring in more than 150 subjects, including AP® and SAT®/ACT® prep resources, in a safe and secure environment. Due to pandemic-related academic disruptions, tutoring services were temporarily expanded to support additional DOD populations. Visit the Tutor.com/military site to verify eligibility.
  • World BookOnline is the premier suite of digital resources for schools and libraries, with content to engage and excite all minds, from prereaders to advanced researchers. The databases are progressive and align users with their appropriate learning levels. It also seamlessly integrates with popular single sign-on providers and learning management systems, or links content to other platforms for teaching and learning. The built-in tools are accessible, flexible and easy to use. Use the virtual training guide for support material, promotional items and free resources. World Book Online is for all ages and reading levels.

  • ArtistWorks for Libraries provides patrons with world-class instruction through self-paced video lessons from Grammy Award-winning music and artistic professionals.
  • Britannica® Academic edition delivers fast and easy access to high-quality, comprehensive information.
  • Britannica® Annals of American History offers a rich and varied history of the United States.
  • Britannica® ImageQuest includes 3.3 million images from 62 leading collections that aren’t freely available on the web. Users can search by keyword, collection, image type and image ratio.
  • Britannica® School Edition offers a safe, up-to-date and age-appropriate information resource for Primary, Middle and High School. Contains encyclopedia articles, journals and periodicals, multimedia, primary sources, games and other learning resources that are curriculum-aligned and support student research and classroom teaching.

  • LearningExpress Library® (DOD Test Prep) is specifically tailored to accommodate the needs of current and retired service members. Available test preps include ASTB-E, ASVAB, Military Flight Aptitude Test, Officer Candidate Tests, CLEP, DSST, TOEFL iBT, IELTS and the SAT. This library offers resource guidance for service members transitioning to civilian careers; career certification prep for occupations ranging from air traffic controller, firefighter and electrician to border patrol. Test prep resources are available for elementary, middle school, high school and college students; GED, HiSET and TASC prep; popular software programs tutorials (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop); and more. Note: Account creation required for access.

  • Consumer ReportsTM offers expert buying advice, ratings, reviews and product descriptions. It also includes consumer reviews and product video clips.
  • EBSCO Audiobooks has more than 2,000 audiobooks in different subjects and categories available for download. Log in with your EBSCO host account to start downloading today (software download required).
  • EBSCO eBook Collection contains more than 3,000 titles in areas such as fiction, history, health and medicine, self-help, business, economics and law.
  • Fold3TM allows users access to U.S. military records, including the stories, photos and personal documents of those who served from the Revolutionary War onward.
  • Freegal Music is a free music service from your library. Freegal offers access to
    15 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. Download up to five songs or videos per week with a 24-streaming-per-day limit. No software installation is required. Freegal is compatible with Windows Media, iTunes and other popular media players.
  • Gale: Academic OneFile covers technology, medicine, engineering, arts and literature. Considered a premier source for peer-reviewed, full-text scholarly content.
  • Gale: Chilton Library provides step-by-step automotive repair procedures for nearly every vehicle make and model. Includes manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, recalls and Technical Service Bulletins.
  • Gale: eBooks offers access to thousands of full-text e-books. They are cross-searchable with select periodical databases and Gale Resource Centers.

  • Scholastic Teachables (Pre-K to grade 6) offers printable activities for any subject, including math, science, reading comprehension, STEM, writing and beyond. Find more than 25,000 teacher-created and vetted printables to support your instruction.
  • Small Engine Repair Reference CenterTM from EBSCO offers more than 400 reference books with original photos and illustrations for small engine repair assistance. This collection of full-text content provides detailed, user-friendly repair guides for all types of small engines.
  • Teacher Reference CenterTM is a research database for teachers that provides indexing and abstracts for more than 230 peer-reviewed journals.
  • Universal Class® offers more than 500 online courses on a wide range of subjects and levels. Courses are available 24/7 and are instructor-led and self-paced.
