The Military Family Readiness Council is a Federal Advisory Council with the following objectives:

  • Review and make recommendations to the secretary of defense regarding Department of Defense military family readiness policy and plans
  • Monitor requirements for the support of military family readiness by the Department of Defense
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the military family readiness programs and activities of the Department of Defense
  • The council is required to submit a report annually with their recommendations to the secretary of defense and the congressional defense committees.
