Casualty & Mortuary Affairs

The Casualty and Mortuary Affairs programs offer a broad range of compassionate help for families of service members and civilian employees who are duty status — whereabouts unknown or excused absence — whereabouts unknown, missing, ill, injured or deceased. In support of these efforts, the Defense Department remains committed to providing steadfast support to survivors of active-duty deaths, including tools and services to help them make informed decisions, grieve in healthy ways and begin envisioning a life with new opportunities.
