The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program and Military OneSource have developed a lookup feature for the popular Best Kept Secrets: Joint Services Campgrounds and Facilities guide.
This feature enables active-duty, National Guard, reserve, retired service members and their families, DOD civilians — as well as survivors and other eligible patrons — to find information quickly and easily about their desired vacation sites at installations across the United States.
The guide was previously available as a download, but users can now search by state to find their family’s next military camping adventure, with the added convenience of being able to easily access information from a smartphone or other mobile device.
Users can now simply go to the site, enter the state they are interested in traveling to, and scroll down to their desired location, which should appear in alphabetical order under the selected state.
Site information includes camping options and reservation policies, contact and website information and a list of amenities and activities.
Vacationers should note that some locations may have restrictions due to coronavirus disease 2019.
