Military Community & Family Policy Equips Service Members and Families With Nutritious Recipes

mission-ready meal kit

The Office of Military Community and Family Policy has released a collection of nutritious, budget-friendly recipes to help service members and their families stay optimally fueled for the demands of military life.

The Mission Ready Meal Kit reflects the importance of nutrition readiness by helping warfighters and their families perform at their best through wholesome food.

“Proper nutrition is not just a personal choice; it’s a strategic advantage,” said Stephen B. Simmons, deputy assistant secretary of war for Military Community and Family Policy. “The Mission Ready Meal Kit is a resource to help build a ready and resilient force through better nutrition that supports peak physical and mental performance.”

Long duty hours, deployments and the constant demands of military service can make it hard for service members and their families to find time to prepare meals. Having access to easy, healthy recipes can help simplify meal planning and reduce stress while promoting better nutrition.

Military Community and Family Policy curated 21 recipes from the kitchens of service members, military spouses, veterans and nutritionists.

Each recipe uses wholesome, flavorful ingredients and is designed to meet the pace and pressures of military life. Best of all, these are delicious and easy to prepare, fitting seamlessly into the schedules of our warfighters and their families.

Service members and families can download the Mission Ready Meal Kit for free from Military OneSource.
