Family readiness supports mission readiness. This short course helps military families prepare for deployments, activations and PCS moves by keeping legal documents, family care plans, child care arrangements and finances current before a crisis occurs.

You’ll learn why readiness is an ongoing process, not a last-minute checklist, and how MilLife Learning, Military OneSource, military and family life counselors and Military Community and Family Policy resources can reduce stress, strengthen family stability and support mission success.

Stay connected when it matters most. In this course, you’ll learn how to send an emergency message through the Red Cross Hero Care Network to notify your service member’s command during urgent family situations, such as a serious illness, death or the birth of a child.

You’ll learn when to request a message, what information you need to gather and how to submit it by phone through the Hero Care App or online. You’ll also learn what happens next, so you and your family know exactly what to expect during urgent situations.
