This report contains the latest available information on the makeup of the military community — including service members and their dependents — in the United States and around the world.

Prior to 2025, some Demographics Profile products used the term “gender” to describe men and women. These groups were defined using administrative data categories for “male” and “female;” therefore, references to gender should be understood to mean “sex.”
