FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 2, 2025

Military OneSource recently launched the improved Plan My Deployment Checklists tool to streamline military deployment support for warfighters and their families.

The Plan My Deployment Checklists tool, now available on Military OneSource.mil, simplifies access to a full suite of deployment-related resources that help service members and families navigate all phases of military deployment, from predeployment through reunion and reintegration.

Based on feedback from previously deployed service members and designed to meet the evolving needs of the more than 2 million active-duty, Coast Guard, National Guard and reserve service members, the updated tool offers guidance for financial planning, family care plans, personal security, legal support and more, all in one convenient location.

Originally a stand-alone website, the Plan My Deployment Checklists tool migrated to MilitaryOneSource.mil as part of a broader effort to give service members and families easier access to information and resources. Key enhancements and features of the tool include:

  • Customizable tasks to help service members and military families stay organized and connected during each phase of deployment
  • Improved readability, with scannable bullet points and direct links to practical resources
  • Downloadable and printable PDFs to help users track progress and feel more prepared during uncertain times
  • Expanded resources to help adults and children navigate the emotional challenges of deployment and separation
  • Quick connection to expert support services such as Military and Family Life Counseling, school liaisons, peer-to-peer support and Military OneSource confidential counseling

“Ensuring our warriors and military families are mission ready is critical to building and maintaining a resilient and capable force,” said Amy Rodick, director, Office of Military Family Readiness Policy. “No one should face deployment alone. We understand the challenges and uncertainty that come with deployment and are here to help military community members before, during and after. The Plan My Deployment Checklists tool reflects our commitment to ensuring service members and their families have the information, resources and support they need.”

Service members can explore how the new Plan My Deployment Checklists tool can help them navigate the preparation and execution of all phases of deployment, as well as find support for all aspects of their military deployment, at Military OneSource.
