Recreation – Benefits
As a service member, you may qualify for a number of discounts on fun activities and adventures. Take advantage of the recreation benefits available to you and your family. Have fun, relax and enjoy.
Your military ID
Your military ID is your ticket to discounts on a variety of activities and adventures. Keep your ID handy and current because it allows you to receive special deals on:
- Hotels

- Theme park tickets
- Vacation packages
- Day trips to nearby cities and attractions
- Local attractions
- Sporting events
- Movie tickets
Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program
Your installation’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program offers numerous benefits, so use them every chance you get. You can:
- Jump into a fitness class
- Join a sports team
- Drive and putt around a golf course
- Participate in outdoor recreation programs
- Rent outdoor adventure equipment

The Information, Tickets and Travel office
For eligible military members, the Information, Tickets and Travel office offers discount ticket sales. You can get deals on everything from rock concerts to sporting events. ITT offices are located on many installations and provide one-stop shopping for savings on:

- Area attractions
- Hotel reservations
- Cruise booking
- Day trips and tours
- Lodging
- Entertainment
- Destination attraction tickets
ITT personnel are certified travel agents who can give service members:
- Exclusive offers
- Personalized service
- Trip-planning assistance
- Destination-specific information
Visit the ITT office on your installation to check out the specials. Get your reduced-rate tickets for all military family-friendly attractions for Disney parks, SeaWorld® and more. Or check out your branch’s ITT services at:

You can also visit American Forces TravelSM, the online version of the installation ITT office. More members of the military community are eligible to use American Forces TravelSM than are eligible for ITT services.
Commissary discounts
You don’t need to travel far to have fun. Think about doing some creative cooking or taking a cooking class — shop and connect with your local commissary.
- Food and household items are sold at cost plus a 5% surcharge.
- On average, shoppers can save more than 30% compared with shopping in town.
- You can also find savings of 50% or more during the commissary customer appreciation case lot sales.

Military exchanges

America the Beautiful passes
The annual America the Beautiful pass is free for service members and their families. This National Park Service pass provides access to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites. The pass covers entrance fees and standard amenity fees at sites such as:
- Fish and Wildlife Service locations
- National Park Service sites
- United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service
- Bureau of Land Management
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
- Bureau of Reclamation
National Guard, reserve, Coast Guard, dependents of U.S. military members with a DD Form 1173, U.S. military cadets, veterans and gold star family members are also eligible to receive a free annual America the Beautiful military pass.
