Semper Support provides virtual, confidential counseling for Marines and families.

How this benefit helps

Marines and their families face stress — in life, at work, in training and on deployments. Sometimes, Marines and families need additional support, like counseling.

Free, convenient and effective

Semper Support provides access to counseling for Marines, as well as their families, who are geographically dispersed and/or those who may experience barriers to in-person counseling services. You can access free counseling sessions from anywhere, on your schedule.

Confidential

Marine leaders and their unit’s Operational Stress Control and Readiness team members provide critical mentorship and support. Sometimes other support — like confidential counseling — is needed.

The right help at the right time

Your safety is our priority. Trained counselors ensure you’re connected to the right support, especially in a crisis. Semper Support counselors will make a warm handoff to the appropriate emergency services or crisis resources if you’re in immediate danger.

Frequently asked questions

  • Active-duty Marines and their immediate family members.
  • Reserve Marines (regardless of activation status) and their immediate family members who are listed in DEERS.
  • Designated Department of Defense expeditionary civilians and their immediate family members.
  • Marines and their immediate family members who are listed in DEERS for 365 days post-separation.
  • Surviving spouses who have not remarried and surviving children who are listed in DEERS.

Support typically provides up to 12 counseling sessions.

No appointment is needed to reach out for counseling. The Semper Support team will work with you to find the best time for counseling sessions.
