Understanding Grief

While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope as you continue on your life’s journey.

Grief is a natural response when a loved one dies. How you grieve is personal. While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are ways to navigate your new normal as you continue your life’s journey.

If you’re a parent of a service member or veteran who died and are not eligible for non-medical counseling through Military OneSource, you may qualify for bereavement counseling through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Surviving unmarried spouses and dependent children can request non-medical counseling.
