Program Briefing
A Children’s Guide to Coping With Disasters – This webinar will discuss how disasters impact children and what you can do to help them. It will discuss the different types of disasters, how children may feel and react and how you can help them cope and process feelings after a disaster.
Challenges of Changing Schools – Participants will learn tips for making a smooth transition to a new school and ways to make new friends.
Effects of Extended Daylight and Darkness – This webinar will address the possible effects of extended periods of sunlight (midnight sun) and darkness (polar nights), the causes and coping strategies.
Nature and the Prevention of Bullying – Bully Busting Activity Instructor’s Guide – This webinar will discuss the nature and prevention of bullying. Using a modified version of the Bully Busters curriculum, we will look at three lessons that can be used with elementary and middle school students. These lessons will focus on helping students define what a bully is, learn and practice skills to reduce being a bully target and help students decide when to get help.
