Anne-Marie Wallace

Anne-Marie Wallace assumed the duties of director for Resources and Oversight within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy in November 2021. As director, Ms. Wallace is responsible for managing the defense-wide family support budget. She is also responsible for providing congressional and legislative oversight, overseeing research for all Military Community and Family Policy quality-of-life programs, and overseeing personnel and performance management across Military Community and Family Policy.

Ms. Wallace manages defense-wide contracts impacting military families, and conducts resource and program analysis for a variety of service-wide service member and family programs. Additionally, she serves as a strategic advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for a $5 billion budget that supports service members and their families.

During her 30-year career, she has held positions in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Air Staff, Air Force Field Operating Agency, and multiple installation leadership roles supporting service members and their families. Her previous assignments include: Deputy Director of Resources and Oversight, Military Community and Family Policy; Chief, Air Force Child and Youth Programs, Headquarters Air Force; Family Member Programs Flight Chief, Ramstein Air Base, Germany; and Child and Youth Specialist at Headquarters Air Force Services Agency in Texas. She also served in a variety of Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Human Resources, and Family Member Programs positions at Edwards AFB, California; Tyndall AFB, Florida; RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom.

Ms. Wallace graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and is a 2016 Senior Executive Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy is directly responsible for programs and policies that establish and support community quality-of-life programs for service members and their families worldwide. This office also serves as the focal point for coordination for a broad range of quality-of-life issues within the Department of Defense.
